• Have they ever been sued?
• Who will be doing the inspection? (some companies have a veteran inspector on board but send out a novice)
• Are they Insured?
• Do they have another job besides home inspections (are they part time) ?
• How many home inspections have they done?
• How long does it take them to do a inspection (2 1/2 to 3 hrs - normal) ?
• Do they provide a warranty?
• Do they provide extras (like a maintenance manual and/or home care DVD) ?
• Have they ever been disciplined by the state of Wisconsin?
• Are they a Member of ASHI (The American Society of Home Inspectors) ?
• Are They a Member of NAHI (The National Association of Home Inspectors) ?
• Are they a Member of WAHI (The Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors) (Not a credential though) ?
• How long have they had their Wisconsin Home Inspection credential license?
• Do they want you at the inspection?
• What kind of Report do the offer. Request a sample report.
• Are they active in the home inspection community?
• How do they inspect the roof (do they walk on it) ?
• How do they inspect the attic or crawl space (do they enter it) ?
• How do they inspect the foundation (do they physically measure the walls) ?
